Thursday Evening, September 7 at 6:30 PM. Ladies, come for an evening of food, fun and fellowship!

Home.  It holds the greatest joys and sometimes the deepest hurts.  It is where our real self shows up and bumps up against other real selves.  At home, we face selfishness, doubt, and anger.  All of us need forgiveness and need to forgive.  Single or married; children or none; young or old.  What good news is there for your home?  What hope does God have for you?  Join us, Sundays in September at 10:30 AM!

This Sunday’s message, based on Deuteronomy 6: 4 - 25, is titled “What Makes a Christian Home Different?” Come join us at 10:30 to learn more and again at 6:00 PM as we continue the study of 1 John.

Do you ever wonder what your gifts are? What difference you can make? Or why God saved you? We are doing a new study on Wednesday nights starting August 30th that helps answer these questions. I believe this study calls us to see God, ourselves, and the world differently and begin to live out God's goal for our lives together.

Wednesday Night Bible Study at 6:30 PM each week.

Zephaniah is a small book and easy to skip. His message though is not small: the Lord will come. In every age, some don't think God will come. Others think they are ready, but Zephaniah warns all of us to listen closely. Let's listen together and get ready. Get ready for judgment. Get ready for joy. Join us.

Today’s message deals with the question ”Is God Angry with Me?” based on Zephaniah 1: 1 - 2:3. Join us at 10:30 AM for this message. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we will continue the study of the book of 1 John.

We are excited to see the updates on Facebook from Rooted Community Church in Lebanon, IL. Rooted Community Church is a gospel-centered, missional church plant in Lebanon, Illinois that our church contributes to quarterly. This past week they held a child dedication service and baptized 4 new believers. Please join us as we continue to pray for the people in the Lebanon area to be open to the teaching of God’s word.

Spotlight on Sunday School

The Builders Class meets in the Fellowship Hall and is made up of adults who are comfortable sharing and speaking their minds.  The class is working its way through the Bible, one book at a time.  Currently they are studying Psalms.  Roger Renner leads and guides the discussions to help the class find nuggets of wisdom in God’s Word. They invite you to join them each Sunday a little before 9:30 AM for coffee and fellowship before the class begins.

This week Pastor Joe’s message is based on Psalms 25 and is titled “How to Respond to Every Trouble?” Come join us at 10:30 AM for Worship Service.

SPOTLIGHT ON SUNDAY SCHOOL! CLASSES FOR ALL AGES STARTING AT 9:30 AM

Today, we want to focus on the Lydia Class for Ladies.  Julie DeFrates leads the discussion each week. We enjoy doing in-depth studies on various subjects, so if you would like to focus on one subject or person in the Bible for a while, this class is for you.  If someone in the class has a particular interest, we find a study on that subject.  Since there are only women in the class, we feel comfortable speaking what’s in our heart.  We are never in a hurry to work through a lesson, so we may take many more Sundays on a study than the author expected.  Currently we are studying the book of John.  Ladies of all ages are invited to stop in and check us out some Sunday!

Sunday Evening, July 30 at 6:00 PM

We invite you to share a story or song with the congregation that has special meaning to you.

Manchester Baptist Church is 190 years old!

The first recorded settlement in the Manchester area was in 1821 and the Village was incorporated in 1831.  On the third Sunday in June 1833, the Manchester Baptist Church. was organized.  The congregation voted to build their first church building in 1838.  The building we now call our church home is the third church building and was built in 1938/39 after a fire destroyed the second one.  Through all those years there have been men and women who were faithful to God and were determined to continue the work of spreading the Word.
