According to Article 2, Section 2D of our church constiturion “The church will have an ordained Deacon Board which is subject to the will of the church. It shall be the duty of the Deacons to assist the Pastor in the ordinances, to provide emblems for the Lord’s Supper, to use the alms of the church for the relief of the destiture and needy members, and to perform such other duties as the New Testament teaches. They shall aid the Pastor in all matters of discipline and in examinations of applicants for church membership. They will be watchful at all times to maintain the high spiritual level of the church, as referred to in the book of Acts chapter 6. The Deacon Board will be responsible for a supply pastor.”
We are blessed to have a deacon board who meet these criteria and who get together and pray for the needs of our church family each month.
