Thanks to all who have filled Baby Bottles to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center! The Drive will end in two weeks, on Sunday, February 27, so please return your bottle by then.
We are thankful for good reports for some we have been praying for and continue to lift them and others up in prayer!!
This Sunday morning we will learn about the parable of the seeds from Luke 8:4 - 15. The title of Pastor Joe’s message is “What makes the difference between a disciple and a crowd?”
Sunday evening we will learn more about Unreached People Groups in our missions moments then we will continue the study of 1 Peter. Come join us at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

There will be no Wednesday Evening Bible Study today, February 2, 2022.
On Sunday Feb. 6. at 10:30 AM Pastor Joe will continue his series on the parables of Jesus. Based on Luke 7:36 - 50 this weeks title is “Why does Jesus eat with sinners?”
Sunday Evening at 6:00 PM we will begin studying the book of 1 Peter.
In this week’s Sunday Evening mission time we will feature Unreached People Groups (ethnic groups who have no one to preach the gospel). Please continue to pray for them throughout the week as you pray for other needs in our church family.
Have you filled a baby bottle with your donation for the Pregnancy Resource Center? Your donation helps women and families in our community in many ways. Some of the ways are to provide material for the HOPE Mentoring Program, to further education for all their clients and to impact families for lifelong change. You may pick up a bottle at the church. The Drive will end on Sunday, February 27.

The arrangements for Lucille Vedder's services are as follows: A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Daws Funeral Home in Jacksonville with interment in Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. A visitation will be held Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Dinner will be served here at the church following the services.

We are morning the loss of Lucille Vedder. Here is a portion of her obituary in case you haven’t seen it.
Elizabeth Lucille Vedder, 91, of Murrayville passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She was born, Aug. 18, 1930, in East St. Louis, the daughter of Lee Morris and Donetta Johnson Jeffrey. She married Billy A. Vedder, March 4, 1950, in Jacksonville. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 2012.
She is survived by 4 Children, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grand children and 2 great great grandchildren and many others who loved her.
Lucille was a member of the Manchester Baptist Church, Nortonville Community Club and Alsey Baptist Prayer Group. She worked at Mason’s Grocery Store, in Murrayville, for 40 years where she was famous for her pies and potato salad. Lucille loved Jesus, her family and her community.
Services for Lucille have been delayed due to COVID 19. Memorials are suggested to the Nortonville Cemetery.

This Sunday morning at 10:30 AM, Pastor Joe’s sermon, based on Luke 6:39-42, is titled “What is a temptation for every disciple?
Sunday School classes help people of all ages grow to be like Jesus. That is our focus as a church: growing to be like Jesus. Join us each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM.
A preschool class is now available for children, ages one through four, during the Morning Worship service. A Mother’s Room is also available in the Kids Ministry Hall.
Our Sunday evening service is a little more informal than Sunday morning. We sing, learn about and pray for God’s work around the world, and listen to a sermon. If you can’t attend on Sunday morning because of work or travel, want something a little less crowded, or are excited about growing as a disciple we invite you to come at 6:00 PM.
Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM we offer a Bible Study and Prayer time. Currently we are studying the Book of John.
Each Tuesday, at 7:00 A.M., men are welcome to join the Men’s Coffee Fellowship at the North End Café in White Hall for fellowship and a short devotion.

Starting today we are back to our regular schedule of Sunday School at 9:30 AM, Worship Service at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM and Wednesday Evening Bible Study at 6:30 PM.
Pastor Joe’s message this Sunday morning is titled “What Does God want at Christmas?” based on Luke 1:57 - 80.
Our Evening Service tonight at 6:00 PM is our Open Mic Christmas Hymn Sing. Join us for a song filled evening as we worship our Lord and Saviour.
We will have identical Christmas Eve Services at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Invite your family to come hear the Gospel Story.
Maurine Hoots will be 95 on Christmas Day. Let’s shower her with cards!
Schedule Changes!
The leadership of Manchester Baptist Church has made a few changes to our regular schedule to keep everyone safe after an increase of sickness in our area and church family.
1. We WILL continue to have both Morning and Evening Worship.
2. Wednesday Night Bible Study is cancelled for tonight, Dec. 8, and next Wednesday, Dec. 15.
3. There will be no Sunday School on Dec. 12.
4. Cocoa and Carols Open House scheduled for Friday evening Dec. 10 has been postponed.
We want to be clear that we are continuing to have our normal Sunday Worship Services.
We want our church and community to stay healthy and be able to worship and celebrate together this season. Please pass the word to your friends and relatives.

Following the service we will have a Pizza Party and then pack shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
See the smiles on these kids faces? They were recipients of shoe boxes full of goodies thanks to Operation Christmas Child! We will be packing these kinds of boxes Sunday afternoon. If you want to pack your own shoe box you may pick one up ahead of time and do it at home. We can still use donations of items as well as cash to use for shipping costs. Thank you for all you do!
